Advisor Spotlight - Becca Slick
Every so often, we like to take a step back from trip-planning tips and introduce you to one of the advisors behind Goofy Getaways. This time, meet Becca Slick — one of our Disney specialists, and an advocate for accessible travel who plans every trip with real, lived experience behind it.
Tell us a little about you.
My name is Becca, and this is my first full year as a travel advisor with Goofy Getaways. Travel has always been something meaningful to me, especially Disney, because I love how it brings people together and turns little moments into lasting stories. As an advisor, I care deeply about helping clients feel supported, prepared, and excited for their trips. My goal is to make the planning process feel less overwhelming and more personal, so that each client feels like the vacation was truly built with them in mind.
What types of trips do you specialize in?
Disney vacations are my passion. I love helping clients plan magical vacations that bring the stories they love to life, whether that's in the Disney Parks or on Disney Cruise Line! I also specialize in planning vacations for clients with disabilities and mobility issues. Travel should be enjoyed by everyone, no matter your physical ability. As a person with my own disability, I understand how individual these needs can be, and I bring that lived perspective into my planning with care. It helps me ask better questions and notice the small things that make a big difference.
What made you decide to become a Travel Advisor?
I have always loved sharing my passion and knowledge of Disney with others. What pushed me to become a travel advisor was my own travel experiences and learning how to overcome the challenges of traveling with a disability of my own. I realized that the passion and knowledge I had for travel, combined with my own personal experiences, could help others achieve their travel goals without having to worry about navigating those challenges on their own. I now have the opportunity to walk through the whole travel process alongside my clients with confidence.
Why did you join Goofy Getaways?
Goofy Getaways has had a special place in my heart long before I became an advisor for the company! I first heard of Goofy Getaways back in 2022, when I first began traveling more myself and used another advisor through the company. When I decided that I wanted to become an advisor myself, I could not think of a better agency to work with — I personally experienced the care and expertise they brought to their work with their clients, and I knew that level of dedication was what I wanted to strive to provide my own clients.
What is your favorite type of trip to plan?
My favorite type of trip to plan is one that brings my clients together with the people who mean the most to them. Whether it's a multigenerational family vacation, a kid-free getaway for mom and dad, or a trip for a group of best friends, I love creating experiences that fit the people taking them. Whether my clients are able-bodied, have a disability, or are traveling with loved ones who have unique accessibility needs, every trip deserves to feel thoughtful, personal, and possible. I take the stress off their shoulders by anticipating the details and solving potential challenges before they happen, so they can focus on what matters most: being together and making memories that last. That's honestly my favorite part — watching them come back recharged, closer, and full of stories.
Tell us about one of the biggest travel mistakes you've made.
The biggest travel mistake I made was years ago, when I started traveling more. On one of my first trips to Disney as an adult, I forgot to charge my electric wheelchair the night before. Because of this, my chair died early in the day, and I had to spend most of my day connected to an outlet just to be able to move. That is not how anyone should have to spend their vacation! I'm glad that I now have the resources and knowledge to help my clients who also have mobility needs plan for situations like that — working together so that if something similar happens, they're still able to enjoy their vacation.
What is your favorite part of helping your clients plan trips?
My favorite part is helping clients get past the "I didn't think that was possible" moment. I love clearing the path so my clients can say yes to that trip they thought was out of reach. I get to untangle the accessibility questions or the budget worries, and watch that stress turn into excitement. I'm there to say, "I see what's in the way — let's map it out." And then, piece by piece, we build something that fits their real life, not some fantasy version.
What is the hardest part of your job?
The hardest part of my job is that travel needs are never one-size-fits-all. Every client has their own needs, and I take the time to learn them. I listen closely, I plan around those needs, and I clear the obstacles so my clients can just show up, feel supported, and enjoy the moment. I work through the details and double-check the tricky parts, so my clients feel calm, confident, and excited about the trip.
If you could give one piece of advice to any traveler, what would it be?
Set your priorities first — especially in places like Disney, where everything looks like a must-do. Pick the two or three things that matter most to you, and let the rest be a bonus. That shift keeps the day from feeling like a checklist. Then let the logistics be my job — let me handle the plans and the timing, so you don't carry a backpack full of what-ifs. That way, you can be present with your people, linger over a meal, notice the little moments, and make memories. Getting everything done was never the point. Coming back with memories that matter is.
