Disneyland Recap
I was recently given the opportunity to attend a Disneyland Good Neighbor Great Stay Program. Side note: Good neighbors, for those of you wondering, are hotels and resorts that are off Disney property, but that meet specific quality standards (set by Disney). This means that certain criteria are met to ensure that you still have a quality experience, even though you aren’t staying on Disney property. For the duration of the training I stayed at The Viv Hotel, Anaheim. Even though this hotel is not on Disney property it was about a mile walk from Downtown Disney. The hotel was clean, there were a few food options available, and my room was very spacious. Since the hotel was in such close proximity I was able to see the fireworks from my room.
Training took place from Monday, July 13th through Wednesday, July 15th, but I was also able to squeeze in a few extra days ahead of the training to enjoy the Disneyland Resort, spend time with family from California, and enjoy the parks. I came home fueled with knowledge and feeling full of magic. These training sessions are always such a great opportunity to learn new things, freshen up on any changes that have taken place, and also to revisit the rides and attractions that I have experienced and love.
We had a fairly large group for this training, so we were split apart and hosted by two different good neighbor resorts. All in all, we were able to visit 11 different properties. I walked away knowing a lot more about what is available for those clients who aren’t interested in staying on Disney property, are looking for a bit more space, or are loyal to certain hotel brands.
To start the training we had a welcome reception and were greeted by one of the host resorts. We were given a run down of what the training would entail and then shuttled to Disney’s California Adventure so that we could experience World of Color Happiness from a reserved viewing spot. If you have not seen it – it is amazing. The last time I was at Disneyland I was not able to see it, and I will say, it has quickly become one of my very favorite shows. This, this is why these trainings are so important. Right away on the first day I was able to tour a resort, meet several new advisors and experience the parks. What a blessing.
The second day we had lots of tours. The day started with a yummy rooftop breakfast, we loaded up in a motorcoach and hopped from place to place (got tasty snacks and drinks along the way), we then took a break for a hosted lunch and some more training about the “behind the scenes”. We finished up our day with more tours. It was very helpful to be able to see things firsthand and get a better idea of what each property offers. This is beneficial to us as advisors, so that we can help you with making the right decision for your vacation. After a long day, we were able to relax and enjoy the parks. It was great to be given that time. (Throughout my three days at the training I was able to see and do everything that I wanted to do at the parks.) Again, it is so helpful for me to experience these things first hand so that YOU can benefit from my knowledge.
The last day of the training consisted of another rooftop breakfast and a few more tours. It was a jam packed schedule, but one that was very beneficial, to me AND you. I am a very hands-on person. I need to see things to truly understand, and these onsite training sessions are such a great way for me to soak up the information and knowledge I need to better serve and prepare you.
You want an advisor who is well informed and these trainings are such a perfect opportunity for us to grow and learn. Not only did I get information in the classroom type setting of the training, and from the staff at the properties - who so graciously hosted these tours, but I also learned so much from each advisor that I met. It’s great to hear what each person / company does. As I mentioned above, there were 40+ advisors and I did not know any of them when I arrived. Not only did these advisors have lots to share about their agencies and how they assist their clients, it was also great to be able to spend time soaking up the magic with others who are just as passionate about Disney as I am.
So grateful for this opportunity!
