Meet Meghan De La Rosa, a bilingual Goofy Getaways Travel Advisor and elementary ESL teacher who built her business around multigenerational trips, the kind where grandparents, parents, and kids all come together to make memories. Get to know her story, her favorite part of the job, and the one travel mistake she never made twice.
Tell us a little about you!
I live in Northern New Jersey with my husband and 2 children. I am an elementary school English as a second language teacher. I am bilingual in Spanish. I have a passion for travel and discovering new countries.
What types of trips do you specialize in?
I love working with multigenerations! It is so special to see big families come together and share memories together
What made you decide to become a Travel Advisor?
I grew up loving Disney, and wanted to share that love with others! I love to plan and organize, so this seemed like the perfect mix to me!
Why did you join Goofy Getaways?
My mom's friend Sue worked for Goofy Getaways and told me all about it! It just seemed like the perfect fit from the beginning. Goofy Getaways values family first, and knowing that I was going to grow my family, that was super important to me. Yes this is a job, but it also couldn't be something stressful in my life, and Goofy Getaways fits all I ever wanted!
What is your favorite type of trip to plan?
I love planning a Disney trip of course, especially for a family that has never gone before. Being able to direct them so that they have the best trip possible, is so rewarding to me.
Tell us about one of the BIGGEST travel mistakes you've made
One of the biggest travel mistakes I made was not packing appropriately for the weather. My assumptions were wrong, and I never checked the forecast before leaving, so I was FREEZING the whole trip.
What is your favorite part of helping your clients plan trips?
My favorite part of helping my clients plan trips is watching the stress melt away after every planning conversation. I love being able to put them at ease, and instill travel confidence!
What is the hardest part of your job?
The hardest part of my job is making sure everything is in my calendar. I don't want to miss booking deadlines!
If you could give one piece of advice to any traveler, what would it be?
Ask for help! Don't go into any trip blind. Watch videos, ask questions, and read. Whatever it takes for you to feel confident when you arrive. When you use a travel advisor, we give you the information you need to know, so you don't have to go searching!
How can travelers get in touch if they want to book a trip with you?
I am always accessible by email or text! I would love to chat about any ideas you have for travel.
