Disneyland Food & Wine Festival: is it a good fit for your family’s travel style?

Calling all foodies! Your time has come! You might be familiar with WDW EPCOT’s food and wine festival (happening in late summer/fall every year), but did you know that the west coast park also has a food and wine festival? Happening March 6th through April 27th, 2026, experience a unique cultural foodie experience that’s sure to make your taste buds tingle.

Disneyland’s Food & Wine festival is exclusive to Disney’s California Adventure theme park and is a celebration of California’s diverse culinary scene. The festival features unique culinary booths (some with locally sourced dishes and drinks), celebrity chef demonstrations, and educational seminars. But is this festival the right fit for your family?

DCA’s food & wine festival is a slower paced festival compared to EPCOT’s and has a more laid back vibe. If this festival is your first time visiting Disneyland and California Adventure, you’ll see that while it’s the original park, it’s much more of a neighborhood hang out for locals compared to the behemoth travel destination of WDW. This makes for a much more laid back vacation with less likelihood of burnout.

The proximity of Disneyland and California Adventure parks makes park hopping a breeze. This is ideal for families who want to experience it all during their trip. Picture starting your morning in Disneyland park, hitting all the classic rides, then hopping over to DCA for tasting plates from different booths for dinner, and finishing the night watching World of Color.

Jim and I admittedly did this festival prior to having our daughter. But if you plan to do this festival with kids or a group, we highly recommend the Sip and Savor pass. Each pass includes a select number of coupons that are redeemable for select food and nonalcoholic beverages at festival booths. Even between the two of us (each one having a sip and savor pass) we saved more money than we would have buying the dishes individually. The sip and savor pass also encourages everyone to pick a dish that sounds good to them, bringing the whole family together. And isn’t that the whole point.

Crowd wise, Disney’s California Adventure really comes to life in the afternoon and evenings (again think people coming to hang out after work). We recommend nailing the must do rides, like Radiator Springs Racers, early in the morning and focus on the foodie experience in the afternoon and evening.

Still deciding if this is your jam? Jim and I think this festival is a fun addition to any Disneyland trip. While we agree, some of the food is more geared towards adventurous eaters, there definitely are options for the whole family. If you’re a family looking to connect over food and not be worried about massive crowds but still wanting that Disney magic, then this festival might just be perfect for you.
