Walt Disney World Updates- January 2021

Walt Disney World announced two surprising updates today (1/11/21) that will impact future guests.

  1. Disney's Magical Express will end on 12/31/2021.  This was the free transportation service from Orlando International Airport to Walt Disney World resorts.  Disney transportation between your resort and the theme parks will continue, but this service that let you be car free for your full vacation will no longer be available.  Ride shares, rentals and other options will be utilized.
  2. Disney's Extra Magic Hours (additional time in a select WDW theme park each day) was discontinued last summer when the parks reopened.  Disney has now announced they will not return but that Walt Disney World resort guests will have early access to any of the 4 Walt Disney World theme parks.  This extra 30 minutes for resort guests will be great for those early risers wanting to conquer some popular attractions.  Disney has not announced when this would begin but it sounds like we could expect to see this by fall.
